Jon Melton is the founder of His practice-based research is concerned with the typography of the seventeenth to nineteenth centuries. He is a type designer and senior lecturer in graphic design at the Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University. His typefaces and type specimens have been published by design industry magazines including Ultrabold and Computer Arts. Classic Soane, a typeface informed by the visual vocabulary of Sir John Soane the celebrated Regency architect, was exhibited widely throughout Europe and has inspired the development of his latest research font: ETRVSCA Sans—a typeface that represents the origins of commercial sans serif typography.
