The prevalence of long-term conditions presents challenges to the delivery of high-quality healthcare for young people and their families, and there are gaps in the evidence base about how best to support those who are especially vulnerable, such as young migrants, with management of their health. The findings of this qualitative research report on the healthcare needs of young migrants with long term conditions highlighted the importance of raising awareness of cultural differences and their impact on young migrants’ self-management. Health professionals described communication difficulties when providing care for these young people. Enhancing nursing practice also requires appreciation of the impact of culture and stigma on young people’s self-management of their conditions.
