Community forestry: countering excess visitor demands in England's national parks

This paper proposes the Community Forest initiative as a sustainable response to overcrowding in the national parks in England, UK. This approach adopts a proactive response to overcrowding, by proposing new "community forests" in areas of low forestation. These community forests which fulfil a similar role to the existing national parks, with management objectives based around recreation, conservation and education.
